Trick or Treat?

By Rich Bond

Halloween is a kids’ holiday, but it can also be a time of reflection, particularly when it comes to hiring.

Most companies rely on recruiting processes that are designed to minimize cost-per-hire and time-to-fill a position.

It is, however, a false economy or a trick, if these processes result in hiring people who will change jobs more quickly and not contribute to company’s overall performance.

Over the years, I developed a 5-step process called Smarter Search which is much more likely to produce a treat.

More than 50% of the people I have placed are still with that organization after five years, and close to 100% of the longer-term placements have been promoted at least once.

The choice is yours – Trick or Treat.
