Surprise! More Women Are Entering Managerial Roles.

By Rich Bond

In 2021, the number of women in senior management roles grew globally to 31%, the highest number ever recorded.

Even more heartening, ninety percent of companies worldwide had at least one woman in a senior management role.

With Women’s History Month upon us, and all the media attention focused on equality and equity, I have been reflecting on the great women I’ve placed.

I’ve been thinking in particular about Margaret. I placed her at Pepsi in a financial role.

Margaret was incredibly bright.  And she was willing to move to move ahead.

She moved from Chicago to New York for Pepsi, and within Pepsi to Louisville. Later, she switched to Whirlpool and moved for them to the boonies.

She became treasurer of Whirlpool.

She advanced in part because she was willing to relocate, which many people, male or female, are not.

What are you prepared to do to move ahead in your career?
