Does Your Resume Stand Out?

My view as a recruiter for over 30 years is that most resumes are quite similar and unimpressive.

Most are a listing of a person’s responsibilities. Big deal. If you don’t do what you are responsible for, you should be fired.

Companies are looking to drive positive change.

The resumes I like, and the people I am excited about working with, are individuals who have replaced some of their recitation of responsibilities with descriptions of quantified accomplishments.

For example:

𝑅𝑒𝑠𝑝𝑜𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦 – 𝐼 𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝑚𝑦 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑎𝑛𝑦’𝑠 𝑏𝑎𝑛𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑟𝑒𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑝𝑠.

𝐴𝑐𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑖𝑠ℎ𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 – 𝐼 𝑟𝑒𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑎𝑛𝑘 𝑓𝑒𝑒𝑠 𝑏𝑦 $100,000 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑔𝑜𝑡 𝑏𝑒𝑡𝑡𝑒𝑟 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒.

If you are an accomplishment-oriented finance or treasury professional, please reach out to me. We should be able to help each other.
