CPA – Can’t Predict Anything.

I am a finance person who found accounting to be boring, until I realized that a company can’t operate without a good accounting function.

Not understanding accounting can lead to calamitous business results, including disastrous acquisitions and bad investments.

I also discovered that accounting alone will not necessarily ensure that a company will prosper.

Accounting is what happened. Finance is understanding what will be happening, which is far more important because the future can be changed.

Most privately owned businesses operate with Controllers or CFOs who are in essence CPAs:

As a business owner, you deserve to have an insight into whether your business is improving or getting worse.

I’d like to share some true stories with you of companies who hired finance professionals who helped them look into the future and take actions that improved their company’s financial results – increasing their bottom lines by $100,000 to $100 million.
