Most business owners and company presidents have impressive knowledge about their companies and customers.

Every business owner I have ever spoken to has detailed records about who their largest customers are.

I have yet to speak to a business owner who knows who their companyโ€™s most profitable customers are.

In fact, many ask me if there is even a difference between biggest and most profitable.

My response is that in most instances a companyโ€™s largest customers, or largest group of customers, are not its most profitable.
