Are You a Bull or a Bear?

You may think I’m referring to the stock market, but I’m not. I’m talking about the way you conduct your business.

Most business owners I’ve known are like bulls. They are up and optimistic. They believe they can win by pure force of personality. They rush in, ignoring any obstacles, and occasionally break things.

Who’s the bear? Often times, it’s the finance person. He or she says, “Slow down. Don’t take risks.” The finance person can seem like an overly cautious nay-sayer who overwhelms you with numbers that make your eyes glaze over.

But what if you had a finance person – a CFO, Controller, or Director of Finance – who could show you a few Key Indicators on one sheet of paper and explain their importance?

Then, you’d know if you should be bullish or bearish. You’d have guidance as to whether you should make investments in growth or realize that you need to make some adjustments first.

The right financial information can put you into a position to gain market share and increase profitability. Without it, your business can fall into bear territory.

I can share some case histories with you of how the right information has helped businesses like yours grow the bottom line by 50% or more. Give me a shout.
